In August 2003, I left my position as director/curator of pARTs Photographic Arts to pursue my own projects. I had become interested in photographing artists in their studios through work I was doing for the gallery. I embarked on the road to find only self-taught artists for in-terviews and portraits, as well as landscapes encountered on my travels to and from their studios. The portfolio contains artist portraits like Adeline Wright above, images of their work, Adeline’s painting below and landscapes, Food and Fuel, near her studio.
